28 Birthday Questions

When you get older, birthdays get weird. My birthday used to be an event—and now I just want to avoid the day. I hope I get to a point where it’s fun again. Last year on my birthday, I did a post of 27 facts about me. So this year I thought I would do 28 random questions. I pulled these questions from all over the internet.

What are the top 5 countries you hope to visit someday?
Take me to Europe please!: Italy, Ireland, Scotland, Amsterdam, and Denmark.

If you could meet anyone, dead or alive, who would it be?
Oh God, so many people: Amy Poehler is probably number one, followed by Beyonce and Mindy Kaling.

What language would you like to learn?
I wanted to do French in high school, but my parents made me do Spanish. Same thing happened again in college. One day I will finally learn French!

If you had one superpower, what would it be?
Apparate. If I can avoid traffic and be able to instantly travel to wherever I want to go, I would be so happy.

What is something NEW you got into this year?
More book reviews! I’ve really gotten into reviewing arc’s this year. I’m also in the second year of my bullet journaling and I love it.

What is one thing you still have from your childhood?
My baby blanket—if you could even still call it a blanket—still lives in my bed with me. I also have the Simba stuffy from my childhood that I loved.

IMG_7562Favorite Birthday?
When I was younger, my birthday every year was an all out event. I would start planning six months in advance and I would somehow stretch it out to last the entire month of July. My house was always the designated sleepover house, so I would have the best sleepover birthdays. However, my birthday last year was probably one of my favorites. I went to Seattle to spend five days with my college friends and I had the best time.

Best advice for your 18 year old self?
None of this matters. Stop being so much in your head. You look so skinny!

What makes you laugh no matter what?
The podcast Threedom, John Mulaney, and a well-done pun.

What is one goal you are determined to achieve in your lifetime?
I would really like to write a book one day. Hopefully, a stack of books.

I wish I was good at photography. Like I wish I can just inject all photography knowledge into my brain and to be instantly a pro.

Television show you’ve binged on recently?
I watched Stranger Things season 3 all in one day. I’m currently binging Schitt’s Creek and I can’t believe I waited so long to watch it.

IMG_7082What’s your favorite holiday?
Christmas. The holiday season in December just makes me feel so happy and puts me in the best mood. Especially Disney at Christmastime.

If you could go to any concert past or present, what would it be?
I mean, obviously The Beatles, right? The two bands that are on my concert bucket list are the Foo Fighters and Weezer.

I will live in Portland, Oregon one day!

What is special about the place you grew up?
Growing up in the Valley, we lived in a bubble just out of the city, so we got the best of both worlds: the security of a small and safe town, but a short drive to the entertainment and culture of Hollywood, Santa Monica, and other parts of LA

What pets did you have while you were growing up?
Our golden retriever, Norton, was like a my older brother when I was a baby—the best dog to have as a young kid. When I was in elementary school we got a beagle named Madelyn who was the most annoying dog on the planet, but you couldn’t help but love her, and our Kaylee girl who unfortunately got hit by a car and passed when I was in college. We also had a cat, Natalie, for 15 years. Oh, and I had a guinea pig named Louie who was the coolest little pig.

What one thing do you really want but can’t afford?
I mean other than an unlimited supply of books? I’ve always wanted to live well enough to afford to have more than one pair of prescription glasses. And to be able to by any Disney statue I want to add to my growing collection.

Being alone and unhappy.

What incredibly strong opinion or belief do you have that is completely unimportant in the grand scheme of things?
Don’t read in the pool. I’ve been saying this since I was a toddler—I would throw a fit if I saw anyone drink in the pool, but I would get hysterical if someone was reading in the pool.

What lie do you tell most often?
“I’m good” or “I’m fine”

Here’s to getting older (ughhh) and hopefully getting wiser!
