Mid-Year Book Freakout Tag

So far, I have read 52 books in 2018—meaning I’m halfway through my goal of 100 books for the year!

1. Best book you’ve read so far in 2018?

Probably Emergency Contact by Mary H.K. Choi or Autoboyography by Christina Lauren

2. Best sequel you’ve read so far in 2018?

I read all three books in the Charlotte Holmes series by Brittany Cavallaro when it was originally a three-part series. Can’t wait for the fourth next year!

3. New release you haven’t read yet, but want to?

I have both Invisible Ghosts by Robyn Schneider and From Twinkle, with Love by Sandhya Menon on my bookshelf and I can’t wait to read them sometime soon

4. Most anticipated release for second half of 2018?

What If It’s Us by Adam Silvera and Becky Albertalli. I adore their books and just know that this is going to be so, so good.

5. Biggest disappointment?

I was really excited for Tradition by Brendan Kiely and it just didn’t deliver what I wanted. I’m usually all in when it comes to boarding school books but this just sort of fell flat.

6. Biggest surprise?

Autoboyography by Christina Lauren kind of just snuck up behind me and punched me in the chest. I thought it would be just a nice gay romance but it was so much more.

7. Favorite new author?

I’ve read two Christina Lauren books this year, with another on my TBR. I Have Lost My Way reinstated my love for Gayle Forman.

8. Newest fictional crush?

I had a big crush on Sam from Emergency Contact. Moody, damaged boy makes me swoon.

9. Newest favorite character?

I loved both Abby and Jax in The Summer of Jordi Perez by Amy Spalding. I related to Abby big time and thought Jax was a great friend/partner in crime for her throughout the book.

10. Book that made you cry?

Not many books made me cry this year. The only one I could remember hitting me in the feels was The Smell of Other People’s Houses by Bonnie-Sue Hitchcock. This book was so beautifully written.

11. Book that made you happy?

I’ve Got This Round by Mamrie Hart was hilarious. She is such a talented writer and an incredible storyteller.

12. Favorite book to movie adaptation you saw this year?

Love, Simon hands down. I say it probably two or three times in theaters. It was perfect.

13. Favorite review you’ve written this year?

Life Inside My Mind, essays on mental health from different authors

14. Most beautiful book you bought so far this year?

The Queen of Hearts by Kimmery Martin. I’m a sucker for florals.

15. What books do you need to read by the end of this year?

Save the Date by Morgan Matson

The Way You Make Me Feel by Maurene Goo

Monday’s Not Coming by Tiffany Jackson

The Looking Glass by Janet McNally

Emergency Contact’s one of the best book I’ve read this year too, Sam’s so swoony! Autoboyography sounds amazing. I’m so excited to read it!
