What’s in My Bookshelf Tag

I saw this over on The Wordy Habitat and it looked like fun!

A LIBRARY BOOK

Sadly, my library is closed until next year. It literally happened like two weeks after I got my library card.

A BOOK YOU GOT AS A GIFT

I always ask for big books as gifts, like coffee table books. Each year since they’ve been coming out I have asked for the big daddy illustrated editions of the Harry Potter series. Only four more to go!

A CHILDHOOD BOOK

Books were very important in my family. My uncle’s family would give us book every year for Christmas and they always picked out the weirdest and quirkiest books they could find. My all-time favorite kids books are:

A MAGICAL BOOK

Harry Potter, OF COURSE

A ROMANTIC BOOK

Most of my books are romance because that’s the kind I like to read, but they aren’t true romance novels with Fabio on the cover. I really love the romances in any Sarah Dessen, Emery Lord, or Rainbow Rowell book.

I’m currently reading the romantic What is it’s Us by Becky Albertalli and Adam Silvera and I’m loving it!

A STEAMY BOOK

First Love by Adrienne Sharp  was a pretty steamy book, same with Roomies by Christina Lauren. I’m slowly getting more into New Adult books, so I think some steamy reads are in my future.

AN OLD BOOK

The oldest book I own is my grandmother’s copy of In Cold Blood by Truman Capote. Its a 1966 first edition that she gave my dad and then he gave it to me. Or I took it one of the times we were moving. I have my dad’s copy of Franny and Zooey by JD Salinger, as well. I love to get old copies of classics, but my favorites are a set of Fairytales by Hans Christian Andersen and the Grimm’s Fairytales

A BOOK THAT MAKES YOU HAPPY AND/OR LAUGH

Yes Please by Amy Poehler and Bossypants by Tina Fey always make me laugh. They are two of my favorite ladies. I also love Bo Burnham’s book of poems and doodles Egghead: Or, You Can’t Survive on Ideas Alone

A BOOK THAT MAKES YOU EMOTIONAL

What doesn’t make me emotional!?! Harry Potter—obviously. Also, anything by Jeff Zentner. There are so msany I could put but of course I’m forgetting the titles of every book I’ve ever read.

A BOOK WHOSE ENDING YOU DISLIKE

I really can’t think of a book that where an ending made me upset or I really hated.

A BOOK/GENRE YOU LOVE READING WHEN IT’S RAINING

Contemporary romance, preferably one that takes place in the fall or winter season. I can’t read a summer romance when its comfy and cozy inside from the rain.
