Hello all! As I said at the beginning of the month, I’m attempting to do NaNoWriMo this year….kinda. Because of my issues with concentration and pain, I knew I would never be able to do everything in the span of one month. So, I gave myself three months! I can do whatever I want, bitches! 50,000 words in three months!
In the amount of time I have, it breaks down to about 16,700 words a month, 550 words a day. So how did I do? Pretty shitty to be honest.
I have a lot of trouble working at home because I get distracted about all the stuff needs to get done there, especially since moving. I try togo to Starbucks or the library during the week, which has been perfect because we’ve had work being done on our house, but on the weekends I usually get absolutely nothing done. I’ try to compensate by writing more each day, but it’s still been pretty hard.
I ended this month with over 10,000 words written. Pretty far from my target goal but I still feel like I’ve accomplished a lot. When I was still awake one night, I began thinking about my story and wondering if it wold be better in first person. I struggled with this at the beginning of my writing journey—even went as far as to have re-written a whole chapter in first person—but for some reason I went against it and stuck to third person. Now, if only I could remember why it didn’t work….
We are preparing to step into a new month, the official NaNoWriMo, and I hope I can improve my overall word goal for the month.
I’ll check in soon!
