What a month!
TV:
Shrill: Season 2 – ♥♥♥♥♥
Looking For Alaska – ♥♥♥♥♥
Sex Education: Season 2 – ♥♥♥♥
Cheer – ♥♥♥♥♥
You: Season 2 – ♥♥♥
January was an incredible month for TV—Hulu and Netflix were killing it! the second season of You was wild and just out of control. I can’t separate Penn Badgley from his character on Gossip Girl. So when I watch him do these heinous crimes, all I see is Dan Humphrey. I was so excited to get new episodes of Shrill—one of my favorites of 2019—I watched all eight episodes in one evening. Actually, I did that with Cheer and Sex Education, as well. They were all so good! Cheer really got me. I was crying all throughout the last two episodes of the six part docuseries. The whole series brought me back to my days on my high school’s dance team—the hard work put in getting ready for competition and the camaraderie and family aspect for a team that spent so many hours together.
Movies:
Marriage Story – ♥♥♥♥♥
The Escort – ♥♥
The hype was real—Marriage Story produced some incredible performances. I’ve always been a fan of Noah Baumbach’s movies and thought his writing was stellar. I’ve never been the biggest ScarJo fan, but I think she pulled off a strong performance up against Adam Driver who absolutely blew me away. I also rewatched Little Women and cried even more than the first time I watched it.
