Physical:

The True Love Experiment by Christina Lauren – ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Yours Truly by Abby Jimenez – ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Hello Beautiful by Ann Napolitano – ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
All That’s Left to Say by Emery Lord – ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5
Yellowface by R. F. Kuang – ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Lessons in Chemistry by Bonnie Garmus – ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5

I mean, what can I say? That’s a great group of books with incredible ratings. Hello Beautiful by Ann Napolitano absolutely ruined me. For the last third of the book, I was seriously sobbing. I cried so much that I gave myself a migraine and I was totally useless the following day. Man, was it just beautiful. It’s been so long since we had a new Emery Lord book and All That’s Left to Say did not disappoint. It felt darker and a more mature than her previous books—I hope this is just the start of a new era for her. I had Lessons in Chemistry on my shelf for a long time now, but I kept putting off reading it—probably because of all the hype. Now that the show premieres next month, I decided it was time. I totally get it—absolutely wonderful. It felt so incredibly cinematic, I could just see everything played out in front of me, especially with all the rich and vibrant characters. It’s no surprise that it’s already being adapted into a series so quickly.

eBooks:

The Breakaway by Jennifer Weiner – ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Next of Kin by Hannah Bonham-Young – ⭐️⭐️⭐️.5
Friends Don’t Fall in Love by Erin Hahn – ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5
Imogen, Obviously by Becky Albertalli – ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5

I thought I may had outgrown Becky Albertalli YA, but Imogen, Obviously was such a wonderful exploration of sexuality. I’ve always loved Erin Hahn’s YA books, but she’s been killing it with her adult romance titles. Friends Don’t Fall in Love was a companion to her book Built to Last, but a friends to lovers music story—even bringing back cameos from the couple in her first novel You’d Be Mine.

Audiobooks:

Born Standing Up by Steve Martin – ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
So Sad Today by Melissa Broder – ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I’m Just a Person by Tig Notaro – ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
My Body by Emily Ratajkowski – ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
People Change by Vivek Shraya – ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

It’s so crazy that Steve Martin could leave stand-up when he was at the very top of the field. It’s not like it didn’t work out for him, I guess. Picture this: in the span of four months, you’re hospitalized with an intestinal disease, your mother suddenly dies, you go through a breakup, AND you’re diagnosed with breast cancer. Tig Notaro could have just pulled a big “fuck you” to the universe and then peaced out, but she miraculously pulled through, producing the best material of her comedy career. It was interesting to hear her commentary about what was going through her mind during this crazy time in her life.
