I found this tag as I was browsing different blogs. So let’s get into this Tag Tuesday!
Have you ever damaged a book?
Never knowingly! in school, I would highlight in a book or write in the margins, but now, I use post-it notes instead. I like to keep books in pristine condition. I will take off a book jacket when I read it so it won’t get damaged and I would rather lose my spot in a book than fold down a page corner.
Have you ever damaged a borrowed book?
Never!
How long does it take you to read a book?
It depends on the book. For some reason, I seem to only read at night, before bed. so I’ll read for an hour/hour and a half and I’ll get through 50-70 pages of a book. If I’m really into it, I’ll finish in the next two days but I have had other book that will maybe be more like five days. It also depends on the genre of book: I can zip through a YA much faster then an adult book. Non-fiction usually takes me a little longer as well.
Books that you haven’t finished?
I rarely DNF books. I’m already so particular about the books I choose, so I will finish 95% of the books I read.
Hyped/popular books you didn’t like?
This answer coincides with the previous answer. A book that I saw very frequently on Goodreads and different lists was
Is there a book you wouldn’t tell anyone you were reading?
In college, I would hide reading New Adult Romance books when I still had an e-reader.
How many books do you own?
I’m currently putting my bookshelves back together so this is all my books unpacked with two bins still in my bedroom. I have the catalog system called Collectorz and that says that I have around 900 books.
Are you a fast or a slow reader?
Faster than average probably. If I’m really enjoying a book, I will rush through it and then slow down at the end to really savor it.
Do you like to buddy read?
I’ve never done it before except when I got the final book in the Twilight series, Breaking Dawn. With a group of friends, we all got the book at the midnight release. Most of them went home and started reading right away, but I value myself way too much so I didn’t start until the next day. I was getting text all about the book that I had to try to shut them up. I think I would rather read things on my own so that I can take my time and not feel rushed.
If you were only allowed to own one book, what would it be and why?
is there any a version of Harry Potter that has the whole series in one book? Because that would be perfect! I would probably choose This Lullaby by Sarah Dessen or Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell.
