I’m actually surprised I didn’t watch more things this month.
I hope you’re all staying healthy and staying INSIDE!! As much as I wish I could be going to the actual movie theater, I’d rather not get sick.

Atypical – ♥♥♥♥
I am Not Okay with This – ♥♥♥♥
Feel Good – ♥♥♥
Phoebe Waller-Bridge can do no wrong. I can’t believe Crashing was only six episodes long. I could have watched ten more seasons of this show. It took me some time to get into Atypical. There are some unlikeable characters that made it hard, but once I finished the third season I was in it. I can’t comment on if the autism representation was done well, but it felt realistic. I am Not Okay with This was kind of wild. I can’t to see how they come back from how they ended the first season. Also, I would die for Stanley Barber (Wyatt Oleff).

Summer Night – ♥♥♥
God’s Own Country was a quiet yet powerful romance that kind of hits you in the gut. Not for everyone, but would definitely be taught in a Queer Studies class in film school. Stargirl the book was one of my favorites as a kid and my complaint—and it’s a big one—was that Stargirl wasn’t weird enough. Just because she wore quirky clothes doesn’t mean she was strange and because of that, you don’t see the vulnerability when she tries to be normal to fit in with the crowd. There’s Something About Harry would have been so much better if they had a different actor play Harry. I don’t know if it’s because Jake Borelli (Sam) is so adorable and charismatic that he just overshadows everyone else, but the kid who played Harry was just blah and didn’t convince me as to what Sam saw in him. Bow down to Ben Schwartz. He has my heart and always will. Full on made me cry in Standing Up, Falling Down. Pete Davidson kind of just played himself in Big Time Adolescence. I didn’t really think much about the movie until it finished and when I looked at it as a whole I appreciated it for what it was.
What have you been watching during your time in isolation? April is guaranteed to be another packed month. Spoiler alert: Tiger. King.
