Favorite (New) Reads of the Month: You Have a Match by Emma Lord AND Wider Than the Sky by Katherine Rothschild
Physical:

In a Holidaze by Christina Lauren – ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5
Frozen Beauty by Lexa Hillyer – ⭐️⭐️⭐️
This Time Next Year by Sophie Cousens – ⭐️⭐️⭐️.5
A Christmastime Christina Lauren was just what I needed this year. It was sweet and fun and I just loved it. Frozen Beauty was one of my most anticipated reads in 2020 and I was a little disappointed. There wasn’t something specifically wrong with it, I just wanted more. This Time Next Year was sweet and I loved the characters and their development throughout the novel, but it was just kind of boring? It felt much longer than it actually was.
eBooks:

The Tourist Attraction by Sarah Morgenthaler – ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Mistletoe and Mr. Right by Sarah Morgenthaler – ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Wider Than the Sky by Katherine Rothschild – ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5
Mr. Right Across the Street by Kathryn Freeman – ⭐️⭐️⭐️.5
You Have a Match by Emma Lord – ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Holiday Home Run by Priscilla Oliveras – ⭐️⭐️⭐️
Booked for Christmas by Lily Menon – ⭐️⭐️⭐️
All About Us by Tom Ellen – ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
New Year’s Kiss by Lee Matthews – ⭐️⭐️⭐️
I started in on my January ARCs this month! I was so excited to dive into Emma Lord’s sophomore release and it did not disappoint, I really loved it. Wider Than the Sky was just a random Netgalley ARC that I requested and I’m so glad I did. I thought about this book so much after reading—it hit me in the feels, big time. Despite being way too long, both Sarah Morgenthaler books were really fun to read and I can’t wait for the finale coming out this month. Like In a Holidaze, All About Us had a time traveling aspect that I thought would bother me, but I actually enjoyed. It definitely took some time to get into, but by the time I was nearing the end, I really cared about the characters and the story.
Audiobooks:

The Quantum Weirdness of the Almost-Kiss by Amy Noelle Parks – ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5
Tiny Pretty Things by Sona Charaipotra & Dhonielle Clayton (reread) – ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5
A Very Punchable Face by Colin Jost – ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
One Way or Another by Kara McDowell – ⭐️⭐️⭐️.5
We Met in December by Rosie Curtis – ⭐️⭐️⭐️.5
The Twelve Dates of Christmas by Jenny Bayliss – ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Some more Christmas reads! These three were fun and sweet, but not very memorable. I reread Tiny Pretty Things to get read for the TV series—don’t get me started on that mess—and I had so much fun being back into the world of the American Ballet Company. Colin Jost proved to be a much better writer than Weekend Update anchor. Find my review for The Quantum Weirdness of the Almost-Kiss right here.
And there you have it—the final month of 2020. I seemed to have read a lot of Hallmark channel romances in book form this month, but that’s kind of what you want around the holidays. I hope you’re having a good start to your year. Get ready for the rest of the month, filled with my favorites of 2020!
I was planning on reading Tiny Pretty Things before seeing the show but I ended up only watching the show for now. I quite enjoyed it ! Is it really so bad compared to the book ? Makes me all the more curiois about it !

It’s completely different. The book series is A LOT more innocent. It all depends on what you prefer. Maybe if I didn’t have the expectations of the book going into the series, I may have enjoyed it more. The dancing was really great.
