Ending the year with a bang!
TV:

The Undoing – ⭐️⭐️⭐️
Tiny Pretty Things – ⭐️⭐️
A Teacher – ⭐️⭐️
Bridgerton – ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Dash & Lily – ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Big Mouth (Season 4) – ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The Crown – ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
While the performances in The Undoing were really incredible, I guessed the ending about halfway through series and the finale in general was a letdown in general. I was so excited about Tiny Pretty Things—I reread the book to get already for it. Except I didn’t need to reread the book because besides maybe a two or three plot points, the show was nothing close to the book. It would be one thing if it was good, but other than the dancing, it was pretty awful—took the soul out of the characters. I watched Bridgerton in one day and ugh! I loved everything about it, minus THAT scene that was pretty problematic. I understood what the writers were doing by including the specific plot point from the novel, I think they could have achieved a similar lesson with something less extreme. I’m obsessed with The Crown. I had been meaning to watch the show since it first came out and I finally did it. By changing the cast every two seasons, we get to see such great development with our characters. I had such a blast watching the show and now I need season five immediately.

I didn’t watch my usual Christmas movies this year—I just really wasn’t feeling it. I did end of reading some new-to-me holiday films, with one turning out to be a new favorite. I may have been the last person on earth who had never seen it, but I get it now—It’s a Wonderful Life was pure magic. Jimmy Stewart was PURE MAGIC! White Christmas was so lovely and I, of course, loved all the dancing, but it felt a little too long for me for a movie that came out in the 50’s. Happiest Season had great potential and performances, but I definitely think Kristen Stewart ended up with the wrong girl. Did I think Holidate was going to be a masterpiece? Of course not, but I was still going to watch it for fun. The last three movies may end up in my top movies of the year, just saying. Stay tuned…
There you have it! I promise I’ll give my thoughts on those last few movies during my top 2020 movies later this month.
White Christmas was always a staple when I was growing up. I still watch it every year but I agree it could have been shortened a bit 😊
