November TV/Movie Wrap Up

TV:

Reboot  – ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The Handmaid’s Tale: Season Five – ⭐️⭐️⭐️.5
Atlanta: Season Four – ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The Crown: Season Five – ⭐️⭐️⭐️.5
Dead to Me: Season Three – ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Reboot was a fun afternoon on the couch. I had a great time! Both The Handmaid’s Tale and The Crown’s fifth season were kind of lackluster. As much as I’ve loved The Handmaid’s Tale from the beginning, they are seriously dragging this series out. The performances are always incredible, but I’m done. Thank God, next season will be its last. It was a changing of the guard for The Crown this season—meaning a new cast to play older versions of the monarchy. Even though I love Imelda Staunton and I think she looks so much like Queen Elizabeth, I really missed Olivia Coleman’s portrayal from the previous two seasons. The person who saved the season from being a total bore was Elizabeth Debicki as Princess Diana. She truly WAS Princess Diana. There were also two shows that had their final seasons this month. I was a little let down from the previous season of Atlanta, but they really made up for it with this final season. It reminded me why I’ve loved this show and these characters after all these years. The other show that had its final season was Dead to Me. I thought they wrapped up this wonderful dramedy in a really satisfying way even though it did get a little ridiculous at times.

Movies:

Selena Gomez: My Mind and Me – ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Abducted in Plain Sight – ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
She Said – ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The Menu –
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Selena Gomez’s doc centered around her mental health journey over the last handful of years. It was interesting to see her take on her bipolar diagnosis, especially from someone who struggles with Lupus. She Said is the true story of the two women who broke the Harvey Weinstein story at the New York Times. It had an incredible cast and was a really compelling. The only things that made me feel icky about it was that Brad Pitt was a producer on the film—he was knowledgable about the Weinstein allegations over the years and still chose to work with him. The Menu was wild and so much fun. Go in to it completely blind, you won’t be sorry.
