April Movie/TV Wrap Up

Abbott Elementary: Season Two – ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5
Pretty Baby: Brooke Shields – ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Single Drunk Female: Season Two – ⭐️⭐️⭐️.5
John Mulaney: Baby J

Some shows really struggle with a second season after coming out with a critically acclaimed debut—not Abbott Elementary. Their second season just solidified and grounded our favorite characters. Can’t wait for season three! Pretty Baby: Brooke Shields was a fascinating look into the life of a woman who was sexual objectified to the masses, pretty much since birth. It’s absolutely astounding what Brooke Shields went through at such a young age and the fact that it wasn’t completely condemned at the time. John Mulaney’s newest special, Baby J, was a drastic departure from his usual stand up, but never less funny. I was lucky enough to see the special while he toured last year and though there were some stories that were left out of the taping, he was just as hilarious.

A Good Person – ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5
Air – ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Judy Blume, Forever
– ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I cried nonstop during A Good Person, in a theater, by myself. It was such a heart wrenching story and watching Florence Pugh break down it immediately got to me. Her performance was pretty remarkable, I could watch her in anything. Air was really good, too! It was fun to see Affleck and Damon back together, then add in Jason Bateman and Viola Davis and you have a dream team. Judy Blume, Forever just made me happy. I remember when I read her books for the first time and watching her recount the thousands of letters that have been sent to her over the years was incredible. I can’t believe she’s 85 years old and still bike rides around Florida!
