February Movie/TV Wrap Up

TV:

Stolen Youth: Inside the Cult at Sarah Lawrence – ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Murdaugh Murders: A Southern Scandal – ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Trying: Season Three
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5

I wish more people watched Trying. It feels like a hidden secret. Even with the typical dry, British humor, this show has so much heart and sincerity. Putting out a docu-series during an active trial is a bold move. I hope they add a third episode going over the trial and the fact that ***Spoiler Alert*** Alex Murdaugh was just sentenced to life in prison for the murders of his wife and son.

Movies:

Pamela: A Love Story – ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Somebody That I Used to Know – ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Triangle of Sadness – ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The Pretty One
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Sometimes working with your partner just doesn’t work, but with Somebody That I Used to Know, Alison Brie and Dave Franco wrote a sweet and unique story. Wonderful performances and seeing Alison Brie and Danny Pudi back on screen together again was a joy to watch. I saw a screen cap of Jake Johnson in The Pretty One and that led me to watching the trailer and then that led me to rewatching the movie. I’d seen it before, but that was pre-Jake Johnson obsession. Triangle of Sadness was weird, definitely not for everyone, and a surprising choice for a Best Picture contender. Oh yeah, heads up for the almost 10-minute long vomit scene.
