Over my Christmas vacation, my mom and I powered through the final season of The Crown. There was so much time they still had to explore and I had no idea where it would end. I liked how they ended the show with the cameos from the previous queens. Poker Face was such a breath of fresh air and I loved the array of guest stars. I’m glad it’s coming back for a second season.
Movies:

The Color Purple – ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5
Maestro – ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5
American Symphony – ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Seeing Waitress in a theater was such a thrill. I never got to see it live so a movie theater was the next best thing. I really hope that more broadway shows bring their pro shots to theaters and make theater more accessible to the average person. I haven’t disliked a Disney movie this much since seeing Cars a million years ago. Wish felt like it was unfinished, or if the writers just did the bare minimum and had to pull off something since it was the 100th Anniversary of the Disney Company. Maestro and The Color Purple were both beautiful musical movies that will be all over the upcoming awards season. After reading Suleika Jaouad’s memoir Between Two Kingdoms about her cancer struggle, I have been fascinated with her journey. American Symphony is about about Jaouad and her husband, musician Jon Batiste, as they both go through the highs and lows of artistic celebration and medical heartache.
