Physical:

The Seven Year Slip by Ashley Poston – ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5

I wasn’t planning on reading this book because of the magical realism, but I’m so glad I did. I swooned, I cried, this was altogether a joy to read.

eBooks:

A Girl Beyond Closed Doors by Jessica Taylor-Bearman – ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
With You Forever by Chloe Liese – ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Every Time You Go Away by Abigail Johnson – ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
A Holly Jolly Ever After by Julie Murphy and Sierra Simone – ⭐️⭐️⭐️.5
Christmas Presents by Tarah Dewitt –
A December to Remember by Jenny Bayliss – ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Kissing Kosher by Jean Meltzer – ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Along Came Holly by Codi Hall – ⭐️⭐️⭐️.5
Wreck the Halls by Tessa Bailey – ⭐️⭐️⭐️

I participated in Disability December this month over on Instagram. I loved reading another Chloe Liese book and the Bergman Brothers series is becoming one of my favorites. With You Forever had IBS and autism representation. Kissing Kosher was a really sweet Jewish romance with chronic pelvic pain rep. The cast of characters working in the bakery and the families of both main characters were a lot of fun and added so much color to the plot. Every Time You Go Away by Abigail Johnson was an own voices novel centered around a girl confined to a wheelchair after a spinal injury. Sprinkle in some friends-to-lovers and a strong as hell heroine and you got a great YA contemporary. A December to Remember by Jenny Bayliss wins for having the best Christmas vibes—I truly felt like I was in a small village in England with the rest of the people of Rowan Thorp.

Audiobooks:

Demystifying Disability by Emily Ladau – ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
When I Was Your Age by Kenan Thompson – ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Strong Female Character by Fern Brady – ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Eight Dates and Nights by Betsy Aldridge – ⭐️⭐️⭐️

Kenan Thompson has been a part of my life since I was a child: All That, Kenan and Kel, Heavyweights, SNL. He’s such a sweet soul who truly does everything for his kids. I picked Strong Female Character up because it was in the Humor category for the Goodreads Choice Awards. This was far from a comedy—though the author, Fern Brady is a comedian—as she struggles with mental health issues, homelessness, and sex work before finally receiving an autism diagnosis. It was extremely moving.
