Is this just another excuse to tell you to stay inside? Only partly.
I saw this the other day at The Royal Bookshelf and thought it would be fun!
Laying in Bed
Book You Could or Have Read in a Day:
I like to read poetry collections or graphic novels in one day.
A Guilty Pleasure Book:
While I don’t like the concept of “guilty pleasure” because you should never feel guilty for what you like. However, I would probably say overly dramatic YA romance is my guilty pleasure. They usually come out in paperback and come from Swoon Reads or Wattpad. The quality of the content isn’t always the best, but still highly entertaining.
Series You Want To Start:
I got Holly Jackson’s first book in her new series, A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder, from Book of the Month. The next book, Good Girl, Bad Blood, came out in the U.K. this past April, but I’m not sure when it will make it to the states. I won’t read the book until it’s closer to the sequel because of my crappy memory.
Been on Your TBR For Ages:
The big reason why a book stays on my TBR for a long time is because it probably intimidates me—in size or subject manner. Books like Middlesex by Jeffrey Eugenides and A Little Life by Hana Yanagihara.
Book You Recently Bought Because of Hype:
I’m not exactly sure which book, but it’s probably something from Book of the Month. I’m a part of some BOTM groups on Facebook, and there are always discussions going on that will convince me to pick up something that I wouldn’t normally choose.
A Book You Learnt From or Had an Impact on You:
Normal People by Sally Rooney really made a lasting impression on me. I have no idea why, but I couldn’t stop thinking about it once I finished.
A Book You Were Gifted:
The books I’m gifted are usually big and thick coffee table books because they are more expensive—Hamilton: The Revolution; the Illustrated Harry Potter books.
What is One Thing You Have Down Recently to Look After Yourself?:
Really the only thing I ever do—read, watch movies/TV, listen to podcasts.
Name a Book Coming Out Soon:
SO MANY BOOKS!
Short and sweet! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend and an even better week!
