I haven’t done one a Tag Tuesday in a while. I found this from Musings of a (Book) Girl and it was created by About to Read on YouTube.
You have 20,000 books on your TBR. How in the world do you decide what to read next?
It all depends on the time of year. For example: October I read mystery/thrillers, June is reserved for LGBTQ+ books and authors. When I don’t have a themed month I’ll either just pick up whatever I’m feeling or I’ll pick from my TBR jar.
You’re halfway through a book and you’re just not loving it. Do you quit or are you committed?
It depends on the book. Sometimes, I will just know that a book isn’t for me and I’ll DNF. With others, I just might not be in the right mood or headspace so I’ll put it down and maybe pick them up at another time.
The end of the year is coming and you’re so close, but so far away on your Goodreads reading challenge. Do you try to catch up and how?
Audio books, short stories, poetry collections, and graphic novels! something that can be finished in a few hours.
The covers of a series you love do. not. match. How do you cope?
I cringe every time I see them, but I don’t have the money to do anything to change up my own collection.
Every one and their mother loves a book you really don’t like. Who do you bond with over shared feelings?
No one. I’ll just have to yell my feelings on Twitter and to my cat.
You’re reading a book and you are about to start crying in public. How do you deal?
Sunglasses! Hide those watery eyes.
A sequel of a book you loved just came out, but you’ve forgotten a lot from the prior novel. Will you re-read the book? Skip the sequel? Try to find a synopsis on Goodreads? Cry in frustration?!?!?!?
Definitely try to re-read the book or at least find an in-depth synopsis. I don’t read very many series to be honest.
You do not want anyone. ANYONE. borrowing your books. How do you politely tell people nope when they ask?
I mean, none of my friends would borrow my books, they know better than to ask. However, I would just tell them that my books are too precious to leave the confides of my house.
Reading ADD. You’ve picked up and put down 5 books in the last month. How do you get over your reading slump?
Re-read an old favorite instantly breaks me out of a reading slump.
There are so many new books coming out that you’re dying to read! How many do you actually buy?
Surprisingly, I have been better this year. I’ve been reading a lot of library books on my kindle and on audio. Except I’ve been real bad the last two months…
After you’ve bought the new books you can’t wait to get to, how long do they sit on your shelf before you get to them?
Oh so longggggg. I’ve actually done better with this too. If it’s something I’ve been really anticipating, I might read it almost immediately. I’ve also been reading my BOTM books pretty immediately because I’ve been trying to complete their different challenges.
