I started the month finishing the A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder trilogy. Having been holding on to the second book, I couldn’t wait until my preorder of the finale came in the mail. The trilogy is just some complex and really just wonderful. As Good as Dead went in a little bit of a different direction, but wrapped up the story in a really satisfying way. Though I am requesting a short story of Pip and Ravi in the future—come on, Holly Jackson, I know you want to! I had no idea that Rachel Hawkins, author of The Wife Upstairs was the same Rachel Hawkins who did The Royals duology—very different! This was really great. All the way to the last page, I was questioning all the characters’ motives and true feelings. So fun! I really wanted to love The Turnout—granted, it was about ballet so I was still engaged. I was on board until the end where it got a little twisted. While I enjoyed last year’s debut better, I was still a fan of They’ll Never Catch Us by Jessica Goodman. I’ll read anything by Kara Thomas and would love to see what she would do with an adult mystery/thriller. The Night She Disappeared was my first Lisa Jewell book and I’m really excited to read more from her—I’ve got two sitting on my shelf right now!I still don’t know my feelings on Lock Every Door—I either hated the last third, or I loved it. You’ll have to get back to me on that.

Spending the rest of the year reading all the books I meant to read throughout the year that I never got to and any books that I’ve been itching to read that show up in the Goodreads Choice Awards.
