The month of book adaptations!
The month where I break out all the mystery/thrillers I’ve accumulated over the last year!
I had such a blast this October. My month dedicated to all things dark, mysterious, and thrilling was epic. I’ve slowly honed in what tropes I enjoy when it comes to mystery/thrillers: prep school or boarding school, summer camp, isolated place or small town, and podcasts.
I’m new to reading mystery thrillers. Just in the last two years, I’ve kind of discovered my love for them. I’ve read five of the 12 books here just in the last month. I was just going to do a Top 10, but I got too excited compiling my list. This is in no particular order, but I did end this list with two of my favorites, by total accident.
Who doesn’t love fall? I’ve always lived in a place with no definitive seasons, the weather always being in the mid-70’s and sunny. However, the four years I lived in Oregon, I really got to experience the gloriousness of fall. The lush greenery as we walked along the Willamette River to get to the football stadium. The leaves falling all around campus littering the damp ground as you walked to and from class. Yeah, it rained a lot, but it was so beautiful that it didn’t even matter. I got this lovely autumnal tag here
Hello! Pop culture and entertainment rule my life. I decided that it would be fun to do a little recap of all the media I consumed each month:
I don’t do spooky. I don’t do scary. Gremlins fucked me up as a kid, my scare tolerance is that low. I can go for weird or thriller, but if anyone gets split in half or jumps out at me, I’m out of there.
